A few kilometers from Argyrades village and next to Saint George, there is the famous Korission Lake (lagoon). A biotope of 6.000 acres with very important fauna and flora; characterized as an Area of Special Protection and included in the European Ecological Network Natura 2000 (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/nature/natura2000/index_en.htm).

The lake (more properly a lagoon), is linked with the sea via a narrow and shallow strip of water.
The beach that Korission Lake ends is called Issos beach, just next to Agios Georgios beach, and is a 4km long sandy shore within a scenic environment with dunes and a cedar forest.
It is also worth seeing the small islet of Lagoudia, opposite to Issos beach.
